Opening or expansion of Bomanji Jamshedji & Co., a business partnership between Adi's father, Khansaheb Kaikhushru Sarosh Irani (standing left with hand across his stomach), and his brother-in-law, Kaikhushru Ardeshir Irani (standing center directly under the signboard). Boman J. Irani is seated (2nd from left). The child seated center is probably his daughter Khorshed (Goher's mother).

Or this photograph may have been taken on the occasion of the felicitation of some British officials or dignitaries.

The person seated far right, garlanded and dressed in white, may be the saint Gilori Shah, whose tomb is built at Meherabad. (No known photograph exists of the saint to which to compare it.)
