from Baily:
“When Baba left the jhopdi and came to the Manzil, Munshi Saheb expressed to Baba his sincere desire to have the first photograph of Baba taken. He sought Baba’s permission. Baba gave permission on the condition that it would be in the clothes that he was wearing at that moment. If Munshi Saheb agreed to the conditions and did not put any pressure on Baba, he
permitted. Munshi Saheb agreed and sent Sayyed Saheb in a car to get a photographer.
Knowing Baba’s habit of constantly changing plans, he did not want to take any chances. However, Baba remained in a happy mood, sitting on the floor with some of his companions. As soon as the photographer arrived, Baba, with a smile on his face, asked him to take his photograph in the same posture as he was sitting.
The camera was quickly focused on Baba and in a moment the photo was clicked.
With a respectful “thank you,” the photographer left.
